Agreement between the EU and Japan

 

Dear Client,

The Agreement between the European Union and Japan on an Economic Partnership signed in Tokyo on 17 July 2018 will enter into force on 1 February 2019.

Exporting companies wishing to benefit from this Agreement on a regular basis must apply to the Tax and Customs Authority for the status of Registered Trader using the form set out in Annex 22-06 of the CAU Implementing Act.

After granting such status, they may issue the Certificate of Origin, in the Invoice or other commercial document, as set out in Annex 3-D of Council Decision EU 2018/1906 of 20 December on the conclusion of the Agreement between the EU and Japan (OJ L 330 of 27 December 2018).
