JOMATIR was present at the 16th APAT Congress
On the 10th and 11th of November, the 16th APAT Congress, the Portuguese Forwarders Association, took place at the Carlos Lopes Pavilion.
The main theme of the 16th edition of this event was “Transitory Activity & Logistics: Trends and e-mergents technologies”.The APAT congress, organized in partnership with the Expresso newspaper, gathered the main players of the sector in Portugal, as well as businessmen representing the largest exporting and importing companies in the country.
Topics of special interest for the forwarding and logistics activity were discussed, with particular emphasis given to the importance of technological innovation, its application and concrete implications, and the challenges posed to the organisation of international goods transport and activities linked to international trade.
“(…) There is no logistics, there is no trade, there is no transport without technology and innovation, whose evolution requires constant adaptation. This is the reality of freight forwarders, a reality in which technology is no longer something of the future to define the present action, becoming one of the areas in which logistics operators have invested the most in recent years. (…)”
It is always important to highlight the importance of the Portuguese forwarders meeting to discuss the state of the sector, the opportunities and current and future challenges that face the activity, and the ways in which they can contribute to the strengthening, dynamism and competitiveness of the national economy and Portuguese companies.
For all these reasons, JOMATIR would have to be, as it usually does, an active presence in this event.
Count on us now for the next one.
